What do you think about a career in fine arts (painting or sculpture)?

Are most art classes in college graded on talent or effort?
A asked: I want to go for a Fine Arts degree…I want to do pottery, jewelry, and sculpture…but I can’t draw or paint very well…do you think that they grade you on talent or effort in those classes?
